Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator with deep technical expertise in Linux environments, automation, cloud technologies, and container orchestration. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in Linux administration, system monitoring, automation, and cloud-native technologies. The role also involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and contributing to the reliability, performance, and security of critical infrastructure.
Must Have Skills (Mandatory)
- In-depth knowledge of Linux distributions (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, SUSE)
- Proficiency in CLI and scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl)
- Strong understanding of Linux kernel, file systems (ext4, XFS), LVM, and system initialization
- User/group management, permissions, process/job scheduling (cron, system timers)
- Networking fundamentals within Linux (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls)
- Automation using configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack)
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Monitoring and logging with tools like ELK Stack or Splunk
- Containerization with Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, or OpenShift
- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Good-to-have Skills (Optional)
- Exposure to cloud-native concepts (serverless, microservices)
- Familiarity with cloud security best practices and automation tools
- Experience in performance tuning and capacity planning
- Basic knowledge of database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and associated admin tasks
- Mentoring and leadership experience
- Ability to maintain technical documentation and knowledge repositories
- Interest in continuous learning and staying current with Linux and DevOps trends
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration and infrastructure management
- Relevant certifications (RHCE, LFCS, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are a plus
