Job Summary
The Banking Business Analyst – Data & Reporting is responsible for supporting data analysis, reporting, and management information initiatives within the banking domain. The role involves gathering and translating business requirements into data-driven insights, designing MIS and regulatory reports, and working closely with IT and BI teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reporting. The position requires strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with reporting tools, and a solid understanding of banking products and processes across retail, corporate, treasury, or operations functions.
Must-Have Skills (Mandatory)
• 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst within the banking or financial services sector
• Strong expertise in data analysis, reporting, and management information systems
• Hands-on experience with advanced Excel and working knowledge of SQL (basic to intermediate)
• Experience using reporting and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of banking products and processes across Retail, Corporate, Treasury, Risk, or Operations
• Experience working with data warehouses, data marts, or enterprise MIS environments
• Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
• Experience preparing BRDs, FRDs, functional specifications, and data mapping documents
• Strong stakeholder communication and coordination skills
Good-to-Have Skills (Optional)
• Experience supporting regulatory and compliance reporting
• Exposure to UAT planning, execution, and data validation activities
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and information security standards
• Experience with reconciliation processes and variance analysis
• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery models
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, IT, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst in the banking domain
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including IT, data, and BI teams
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a fast-paced banking environment
